Requirements

The governor appoints, with the advice and consent of the state senate, eight members representing the following designated districts from nominations received from the appropriate cities and counties.  Counties shall submit three names for considerations, cities shall submit two names for consideration.  The districts are designated as follows:

(a)  unincorporated Salt Lake County, including Granite Park, Holladay, South Cottonwood, Willow Creek (North Sandy), and parts of Murray and South Salt Lake.  Must be nominated by the Salt Lake County Commission.
(b)  unincorporated portions of Kearns and Magna.  Must be nominated by the Salt Lake County Commission.
(c)  City of West Jordan.  Must be nominated by the City of West Jordan.
(d)  Cities of Bluffdale, Riverton, and South Jordan.  Must be nominated by the cities of Bluffdale, Riverton and South Jordan.
(e)  two members from West Valley City.  Must be nominated by the city council of West Valley City.
(f)  Cities of Draper and Midvale and Herriman.  Also unincorporated areas of White City and Utah County.
(g)  Taylorsville City.  Must be nominated by the city of Taylorsville.
